Cantina di Monteforte
Verona, Veneto, Italy

Born from a shared passion for vineyards and territory, Cantina Sociale di Monteforte d’Alpone began in March 1952 when a group of winemakers chose cooperation to help conserve their corner of East Veronese on the edge of Vicenza. After breaking ground on July 12, 1952 and opening on September 28 with 1,300,000 kilos of grapes, the cellar kept evolving through technology-driven vinification, tank upgrades, and a renewed focus on viticulture quality through the Castellaro and Foscarino projects. Its identity stays rooted in the historic names of Soave and Valpolicella, shaped by volcanic soils that are dark with reddish and silvery reflections and carry the scent of sun-dried earth and tradition. In the vineyards, techniques like pheromone-based mating disruption, followed by a new bottling plant in 2018, reflect a philosophy of protecting the landscape while improving how the wines are made in Monteforte d'Alpone.
