Scents of cocoa, bitter chocolate and crushed elderberries dominate the bouquet. On the palate, flavours of black berries, dark cherries and liquorice are enveloped in firm, juicy tannins with a long, persistent finish.

Old Lagrein‑growing parcels at about 260 m altitude on sandy clay porphyry alluvial soil with rocky sediments; vines around 80 years old trained partly on pergolas and partly Guyot‑pruned on espalier under ecological principles
