La Ghibellina

La Ghibellina is an organic estate in Monterotondo (Gavi, Piedmont), founded in 2000 by Marina Galli and Alberto Ghibellini as a long term life choice rooted in respect for the land they see themselves as custodians of. They farm vineyards spread across the hilly, breezy southern Piedmont corridor between the Po Valley and the Ligurian Apennines, where mixed soils (more calcareous toward the tops, more clay influenced at the foothills) and strong day to night temperature shifts help produce wines that feel elegant, balanced, and naturally lifted by acidity and minerality. Their philosophy in the cellar is to highlight the expressive potential and typicity of their own vineyards through careful, respectful winemaking that stays as unintrusive as possible, preserving the character of the grapes, with certified organic practices in both vineyard and winemaking since the 2016 harvest.
