Rooted in ancient Tuscany, the estate’s name “Aisna” comes from the Etruscan word for “divine,” symbolized by Fuflun holding a cup while Artames offers grapes, a nod to wine as a bridge between everyday life and spirituality. Sergio Rossi set the modern story in motion in the early 1970s when he left Milan for Montalcino, working with his cousin Giulio Consonno to establish and manage Altesino and Caparzo before founding La Gerla in 1979. Following that path, Alessandro Rossi began cultivating Sangiovese Grosso in 1998 and, after his father’s passing in 2011, committed to vinifying his own grapes independently, launching a new chapter anchored in the Montalcino territory. Today the story is tied to Pod. Colombaio in Altesi, where heritage, land, and a devotion to the natural cycles behind the vine shape both philosophy and technique.
