La Giribaldina

Born in 1995 inside the ancient Giribaldi farmhouse, later lovingly restored in its 19th century form, La Giribaldina sits among the Monferrato hills of Calamandrana in southern Asti, a quiet pocket about 20 minutes from Asti and 30 from Alba. Since 2006, Emanuele Colombo has guided the family estate with a clear philosophy: pursue absolute quality while protecting the distinctive character of this corner of Piedmont. In the cellar, the work stays hands on and detail driven, from careful vineyard selection to clean stainless steel vinification and patient maturation in oak, using both small barriques and larger barrels when the wine calls for it. Even the sweeter styles begin with bunch by bunch choices and natural drying, and visitors can taste the results in a welcoming ground floor salon that keeps the spirit of the old farmhouse alive.
